Morning

The work of Pierre Soulages, visit of his museum

The Soulages museum is unique, due to its location and its architecture in the heart of a park, and is home to the largest collection in the world of works by painter Pierre Soulages. A varied collection which traces back all the painter’s artistic work

Afternoon

Encounter with the standing stones of the Fenaille Museum

In the 1940s, the young Pierre Soulages met the gaze of the standing stones of the Fenaille museum. “When for the first time I saw the engraved stones in the Fenaille museum, it was a shock“. The astonishing series of walnut stains carried out in the years 1947-1949 evokes the same head-on impact, a radicality of construction.
